Right on all. Support your local food groups and remember the above picture…even the organic movement isn’t as clean on the surface as it appears, especially with the emergence of corporate organic.

I’ve been known to call companies on the number listed on the packaging/label while I’m right in the store to ask questions. I’ve noticed more list a website now instead of a phone number, though.

What you buy is what you support.

Exactly! I’ve been more and more aware of what my dollars spent “vote” for. Sometimes I think that is more important than who I vote for.

Now with the internet, it is also easier than ever to let businesses know if you don’t buy their products or shop at a store anymore, and why. It doesn’t have to be an organized boycott or a “nasty letter” campaign, just a simple explanation of what you are looking for, what they don’t provide, and why they don’t get your business anymore (and perhaps who does get your business).

Actually in the absence of a corresponding increase in supply, further demand would lead to price increases in the organic produce market not decreases.
