[...] Get Plenty of Protein Be sure to load up on the turkey, ham, goose, duck, lamb, beef, or whatever proteins are available. Protein will help fill you up and tends to come with fat that will also signal your brain to stop eating. If nothing else, the space that the turkey is occupying can’t be occupied by mashed potatoes. Don’t forget to eat a few deviled eggs, mainly because they are darn tasty, but also because eggs are good for you. [...]

I suggest reading Kendrick's The Cholesterol Con, he has a lot to say about the validity of the lipid/chol./CVD hypotheses (In short, they are probably all invalid) as well as statins and their pushers.

Sometimes eating the right foods is not enough as the foods maybe lacking in the right nutrients. My cholesterol was 298. It dropped slightly after changing my eating habits. After a while, I decided to take a statin drug and my ATP climbed, so I went off and have been off statin drugs for over a year. Last month I started taking Heart Health supplements, which include Lipitrim w/sytrinol, and after just over a week, my cholesterol dropped to 234. Sytrinol is available at most health food stores. More info on Lipitrim can be found at http://www.marketamerica.com/casheltech/index.cfm?action=shopping.uoProduct&storeID=8&prodID=13845

Debs,

I suppose if you blend enough blueberries with some agave you'd have a kool aid of sorts.

"Paleo Kool Aid: now with more kelp!" sounds like a winner.

Best,
Skyler

Thanks, this will be helpful in some debates I'm having about nutrition with my dad.

I loved your quip about "drinking the paleo kool-aid." I'm guessing paleo kool-aid would probably have been blood!
