Thanks, Scott. The next target is the Zestoretic. My blood pressure was a rock solid 120/80 before I let my weight baloon and exercised less. I've gone from 242 to 206 since mid-August--hopefully I'll be able to start weening myself of those damn things as well!! Then I'll be down to one daily pill. I'm going to start a campaign to eradicate cedar trees from Texas so I can dump the Zyrtec! :-)

Very cool Dave. I'm glad you've found someone that at least tries to let the body heal itself.

Cheers

DaveC:

You could do what I did what my generic bottle of half full Zocor. Over a year ago, I gave them to my parents. They won't listen to me completly yet, but my mother is trying to low carb and at least cut her statin intake in half.

My doctor's actually quit asking me about starting to take them again. Probably a combo of my smart ass answers and the fact that my number are "perfect" for her without them. Not that I care about the exact same numbers she's looking at.

One result of all my reading over the last few months is that I have a half-empty bottle of Zocor sitting on my kitchen counter. I also switched M.D.s from one who's answer to everything was found in his prescription pad to one who sees drugs as the course of last resort.

I saw that over on Robb's blog Sarena...that's great! You have to watch those low-carb diets...they'll make you keel over from all that fat and cholesterol. Keep up the awesome work.

Cheers
