hey scott thx for posting about how/where to get spices. your post inspired me to check out a local spice shop here in toronto. i was a bit skeptical but i bought a few quality organic spices and wow i really do notice a difference, mainly in flavor & scent (much stronger).

i "challenged" the owner to sell me on paying more for spices and she brought up some of the same arguments about irradiation etc.

all in all i think for me its just too much trouble to be buying fresh parsley, cilantro etc. but i think im gonna stick with paying a bit extra for some fresh, organic dried spices.

Good word Andy. Herbs are most definitely easy plants to grow. They can be planted in a pot in a windowsill if you don't have a yard.

Cheers

Herbs are also some of the easiest plants go grow. I almost always have a patch of basil, oregano, thyme and chives growing somewhere in my yard. Garlic is another easy plant to grow, and my garlic plants are just starting to poke out of the ground.
