Ok, so I’ve given you my guacamole recipe. Now here is some incentive to put it to use:
Avocados may help prevent oral cancer, OSU study shows

Nutrients taken from avocados are able to thwart oral cancer cells, killing some and preventing pre-cancerous cells from developing into actual cancers, according to researchers at Ohio State University.

This research was conducted on the Hass avocados that are typically found in any grocery store, which makes it doubly good news for us. Not only are avocados good at waylaying cancer, it is a type of avocado that you don’t have to travel to some tiny village on the smallest island in the South Pacific to get. Obviously there isn’t a big surprise from a “grand scheme of things” point-of-view that a fruit would have health benefits. Nearly all foods of plant origin boast some health boosting qualities, including herbs and spices. This is just one very specific benefit that comes from one of the most delicious fruits available.
