Hi Scott,

Amen! There's nothing else to say - you nailed it. At first I was interested in CRON/CRAN (heard about it long before IF) and thought living the longest life possible was **the** ultimate goal. But there are so many worries that come with extreme age, not the least of which are money, being alone, getting lost to the faster paced world around you. Also, like you noted in this entry and the one on IF, CR practioners don't look very healthy and vital, but rather scrawny and weak. I've heard the quote you used about the lowered testosterone levels before, and I, too, think that's absurd to think unusually low or high levels of any hormone is healthy.

Our desires for a great life are on par. My goal now is achieving the best health and strength while I am here, thus getting the utmost out of life. I read a quote recently, attributed to George Bernard Shaw and paraphrased here: A joy in life...to be a force of nature instead of a feverish little clod of complaints and ailments upset that the world doesn't devote itself to making you happy. "Force of nature" - that's what I want to be. Strong, healthy, alert, sharp, and able to use those assets to make the world a better place. And to share how astonishingly simple it is to obtain that health once you believe in the straighforward way, commit to it, and adjust to the new way of living. It is clean, uncluttered, and I couldn't imagine returning to the typical diet and lifestyle we see in American today.

Thanks much for another insightful post. I look forward to many more!

Kelli (formerly known as "K") :-)
