		<description>Wow, that really hits home... My father passed away a few years ago from complications of Diabetes, and the line you describe is the exact one i remember him follwing growing up. I remember the "it's not sugar so it's ok" BS he'd  spout as he downed a 4 serving bowl of wheaties or 2 quarts of chicken soup loaded with noodles and rice. Doctors actually told him these foods were ok(though i'm sure not in these amounts) It's still tough for me to think about this...i remember the first bypass, i was only 15 but i knew what was happening. My mom and sister in the 
waiting room eating candy (both were obese) while my father is hooked up to some machine that's breathing for him. This is a heartbreaking disease and 
people are not taking it seriously.  It's not just a bowl of cereal or a friggin bagel, it's years of your life you won't get to see. Sorry for the rant...
